It sounds extremely soft, also a bit like a wave, I think and cute somehow. It also has an elitist touch - critics would say arrogant. There is this (actually unfair) stereotype that French people are cowards. I think that might come from the language too because French is really an extremely soft language compared to the very harsh German - and the old Nazi-stereotype that Germans are always evil was also reinforced through the sound of the language.
Depends where the speaker comes from. And who he or she is.
I heard french sounding like music, a buzzsaw, a diesel engine with a broken sound suppression… and anything in between.
